I had a professor in seminary who kept a file of “Poison Pen” correspondence – hate mail, slander, and the like. I never thought I’d have my own such file someday. I got a lengthy diatribe in the mail today that will go into my “poison pen” file, and just saw the cost of the postage: $6.66. (Told you it was lengthy.) No joke. I’m not usually one for signs, but …

I’ll pray for you. The Holy Spirit knows the details. Drinking venom rarely is easy.

I've been getting e-mails like this on a regular basis, from the same person, outlining all that I'm not doing, should be doing, other pastors do better, etc. Its always hard and ruins my day every time I read them. Yet this person keeps coming back and asking for my help. Hard to be pastoral in those cases, though I try to put it out of my mind and give what I am given to give. Sorry you have to go through it also.
