Addictions and the Christian – insights from Kleinig
Posted on October 2nd, 2010
“The addiction to pornography is not the real problem. It is a symptom of the real problem.” – John Kleinig
The addiction is the manifestation of deeper spiritual issues.
We want Christ to come and do a paint job on us – to give us a makeover, fix us up to make us presentable. But Christ doesn’t start working on the outside first, He works on the inside, addressing our fundamental problems of sin.
Addiction can reveal to us our helplessness, our inability to help ourselves or rescue ourselves.
