In a previous post we looked at the pro-choice attitudes of Christians when it comes to children. Choice gone awry—demanding “yes” when God has said “no” or “not yet”—can be seen already in the account of Abraham and the imperiled Seed of promise. Abraham and his wife Sarah are barren. God had promised that He would make Abraham’s seed multiply, and in his Seed all the families of the earth would be blessed. Doubting God’s Word, they take matters into their own hands. The quest for a child at any cost leads them to disregard the marriage covenant, and Abraham has intercourse with Hagar.

The pro-choice mindset is corrupt to the core because it sets aside the right of the Lord to choose where, when, and how He will do what He sees right. The Lord’s will is forsaken not only when children are discarded like yesterday’s rubbish, but when children are sought after at any cost, ethics be damned.
