Luther, again, on the great blessings God bestows on Leah: So far we have heard how Jacob, after the nuptials with Leah and Rachel, begot four sons from that despised and neglected Leah. With this example God shows that He is propitious and favorably disposed toward those who are humble, afflicted, and cast off, so that all who labor and are heavy-laden (cf. Matt. 11:28) have no grounds for complaint, especially if they believe in God and are not overcome by impatience and indignation.
