Many are trashed in bio-hazard bags, as a dangerous thing we must put far from us. Sometimes body parts are sold for experiments and testing. Except for those recovered by noble people digging through garbage heaps, none are given a proper burial.  They’ve been dismembered, suctioned, poisoned, flushed down toilets; some of them, born alive, have been beheaded by a physician who laughs. No Easy Day

I recently read Mark Owen’s No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden. If as I do you enjoy books about Navy SEALs, you’ll enjoy No Easy Day. The main thrust of the book is, as the subtitle indicates, about the raid on bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan. However, a good portion of the book is also spent on Owen’s SEAL training and other missions. Below are a few of the excerpts I found interesting. Petitions for the President’s inauguration and Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

I didn’t see anything from the LCMS worship office on prayers for Life Sunday or President Obama’s inauguration (if I missed it, please point me in the right direction), so I wrote my own. Perhaps they may be of use to someone:     For the President of the United States, Barack Obama, that his inauguration would be a blessing to the nation, that he would be strengthened in good works, and that he would receive grace to uphold all our liberties, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy. For an end to abortion and every form of violence, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy.
